Retrieving Voice Mail

    Voice mail allows you to access messages left by callers when you are unavailable to take their call. The following section describes how to use voicemail with the Cisco IP Phone 7960 provided with your service.

  • Accessing Voice Mail By Phone Menu.
    • To access voice mail, press the messages button and follow the voice instructions. The LCD displays a text message indicating the number of voice mail messages in your mailbox. The red light on your handset also lights when you have a new voice mail message. However it will not light if there is any messages present in the global mailbox for the company which uses the extension 100.
  • Remote Access to Voice Mail.
    • Step 1 Dial remote number 813-386-5900 to access voice mail.
    • Step 2 When prompted enter your 10 digit telephone number. This is your main number including the area code : ex. 813-555-1212
    • Step 3 Enter your mail box. By default this is the extension number shown on you IP phone’s LCD display screen.
    • Note:
      • Your company may contain more than one mailbox accessible by its users. There exists a global group along with individual separate mailbox(s) for each extension.
    • Step 4 Enter your Voice Mail retrieval password. The password is the extension number by default unless it has been changed. If you have not created a new password please do so by entering a new password when prompted. Record this new password and keep a copy for your records.
    • Step 5 Once in the Voice Mail system you can follow the prompts to access your voice mail.
